Tickets for Hanoi Rocks' last ever gigs go on sale Thursday, December 11th 2008

In the spring of 2009, Hanoi Rocks will play their last ever gigs at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki, Finland. The shows will take place during the Easter Holidays, April 10th-12th. On Saturday, April 11th, the band will play an additional show with no age limit. Before these final gigs Hanoi Rocks will bid farewell to their Japanese fans with a penultimate 6 gig tour taking place between the 8th and 15th of March. Two last minute additions to the 2008 tour dates will give the Swedish fans a chance to join this merry funeral parade as well: On December 20th Hanoi Rocks =20 plays in Borl=E4nge (Cozmoz/Bolanche) and the next day in Stockholm (Strand).

Hanoi Rocks have decided to break up by the end of the year 2008.
Michael Monroe and Andy McCoy feel that they've taken the band as far
as it can go and now wish to go their separate ways.

All commitments until the end of the year, including the UK tour
starting in London on Halloween, will naturally be honoured.
In addition, the band has decided to say farewell to their fans by
doing a final tour of Japan in the spring 2009 and immediately thereafter
wrapping things up with a few nights at the legendary Tavastia Club in
Helsinki, Finland where their career originally got started in the 80's.

November 26th will see the timely release of the first ever
career-spanning Hanoi Rocks retrospective: a 2-CD set titled "This One's
For Rock'n'Roll - The Best Of Hanoi Rocks 1980-2008".

The Baltic Sea is the most polluted sea in the world. Worldwide climate change affects us all. "Operaatio Maa" ("Operation Earth"), a new series starting in November on Finnish TV channel 4, features three separate teams with different environmental causes. Rock stars Jyrki 69 and Jussi 69 from The 69 Eyes form one of the teams, that will man the barricades for saving the Baltic Sea: they have formed an anarchistic environmental movement called "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" and invite everyone aboard the ship that sails under the green Jolly Roger!

Hanoi Rocks' frontman Michael Monroe joined the Pirates and created a powerful, anthemic call to arms that aims to wake people up from their apathy and to take action: every single living soul CAN take part in saving the Baltic Sea. Michael Monroe has always been an actively aware person, even back in the day: in the 80's he participated in the Sun City project, which was Bruce Springsteen's and Little Steven's worldwide musical protest against apartheid. Besides singing the song along with a bunch of other international rock stars, Michael Monroe can be seen in the legendary Sun City music video.

With the song "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" Michael Monroe appears at his most aggressive, and punky for quite some while. The international band of misfits that recorded the song with Michael is a true rock'n'roll crew of the highest order: Jussi 69 behind the drums, underground legend Adam Bomb on the guitar, Warrior Soul's Kory Clarke singing backup, and Backyard Babies' Dregen on the guitar as well. A music video for "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" - directed by TuukkaTemonen - was shot a short while ago on the Baltic Sea aboard the marine research vessel Aranda.

The release party for the "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" -single and video was held at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki on Friday, September 19th.

Heikki Miettinen, the lead singer of Finnish modern thrashers Discard, has left the band at the verge of a large scale European tour. According to Heikkinen, his decicion derives from "total lack of motivation and anxiety towards band activity".

Due to the frontman's resignment, the Thrashing Like a Maniac European tour with Gama Bomb (Ireland) and Bonded by Blood (USA) topping 30 shows in 11 countries, is cancelled from Discard's part. A lot of the shows were sold out in advance.

Discard's highly acclaimed debut Carrion has been released in nine countries so far:

One year ago Bloodpit was forced to call it quits. Now they are back with a brand new and brave line-up, pockets full of strong hits, the first due to be released on Recovered EP, out on October 1, 2008 (Backstage Alliance). Thanks to the intensive rehearsing period the new members, singer Antti Ravín and guitarist Pietu Hiltunen, now fit into the old Bloodpit frontier like they would have always played with guitarist Paavo Pekkonen, bassist Aleksi Keränen and drummer Alarik Valamo.

When the band decided to start a search for a new singer, Antti, a dedicated Bloodpit fan, was the first option. According to drummer Alarik Valamo, they wanted a person who would have enough courage to be himself. "We never searched for a replacement for Matthau Mikojan. Right from the beginning we wanted our singer to be as versatile and skilful as possible, with a clear and strong personal input".

"I wouldn't have been the right guy had the band been looking for Matthau the second, even if his singing actually was the reason why I started listening to Bloodpit back in the day. It's really great, but maybe not the easiest thing to sing in my favourite band now", comments Antti.

The new Bloodpit line-up just played their first gigs is Latvia, and will play their one and only gig in Finland this summer in Tampere, Dog's Home, July 10. The gig is already sold out in advance. During the autumn the fans will see and hear a solid fivesome, which will easily fill the big boots they vacated themselves last summer when they had to send their singer home in a taxi from Karkkila's Sunset Beach Party and put the band on hold. Bloodpit's hectic autumn schedule will include, for example, a showcase on October 25 in Tampere, Musiikki and Media Music Expo's nightly Lost In Music festival.

No, we are talking about one of the most charismatic young men in the in-yer-face-f"k-off-and-let-me-play department of rock music. Matthau Mikojan. He released his first solo album just two months ago and has cut two tracks off as singles, Stiletto Heels and Too Fortunate to Cry. The event is a big deal especially for guitarist Anthon: "For me it's a huge honour to get up on stage and play with Matthau. He's one of only a handful of musicians who I appreciate on the scene today 'cause he's a very talented singer and performer, I'm his fan, U know!." They'll be walking down memory lane on saturday playing material Mikojan hasn't touched in over a year. "It's a mix of a bit of his, a pinch of ours and a whole lotta Slash" hints Vince.

White Flame are also happy to announce that a long time friend and fellow guitarist from Rag Doll, Antti "Laz" Laurila is doing the Pakkahuone show with the band. Anthon sees this as an opportunity to elevate the bands sound to higher grounds and hopes he could focus more on taking on the crowd as some of the weight is rested on Laurila's shoulders: "We decided to try what White Flame sounds like with two guitars, so mr. Laz will be givin' me a helping hand in Pakkahuone gig." Vince is pleased with the fact that as in his words: "The boy can sing too. Now we'll get some of those harmonics that are so crucial on the album."

Hanoi Rocks are finally announcing their new drummer! Hailing from Sweden, the new member is George Atlagic, nicknamed 'Jolle' among friends. More than 200 drummers applied and five of them were invited to audition with the band. George Atlagic stood out from the five candidates, not only for his talent, but also because of his personality and for being a kindred spirit with the band. Hanoi Rocks comment on the decision: "Jolle is technically a very skillful drummer and his style is greatly in the vein of the former Hanoi Rocks drummers, Gyp Casino and Razzle. He also already looked like he was playing in a successful rockband."

Hanoi Rocks are releasing a new single Teenage Revolution/Self Destruction Blues on May 28th, 2008. The single is already a collectors item since it includes the original arrangement of Self Destruction Blues, previously unreleased in Europe by Hanoi Rocks.

Hanoi Rocks' summer is busy as always - the band will play at the biggest Finnish and Swedish rock festivals and will also visit Norway, Estonia and the UK.

Public word got it all wrong -- Bloodpit has not called it quits.
The Finnish chart topping rock band had it rolling last summer but after having a rough period of time, they had to take a time-out. They will now continue their career, stronger than ever. The new lineup will be announced 10th of July.

Bloodpit guitarist Paavo Pekkonen comments the band's current position:
"I would not use the word comeback, since none of us ever said we have split up. The Off The Hook-tour ended to a complete dead end last summer, but despite all that we played a few cover gigs as a trio with Aleksi and Alarik last fall. Everything felt really good while playing live and rehearsing the covers, so we started to make new songs. We
realized quite fast, that it sounded like Bloodpit all the way."

Bloodpit will only play one show in Finland this summer. The event will take place in Dog..s Home, Tampere, Thursday 10th of July. There will be a press conference held at Dog's Home on the same day, where Bloodpit will reveal the new members and their future plans. Backstage Alliance will release a brand new Bloodpit EP entitled
"Recovered" 1st of October 2008. Pre-sales of the new EP will also

One of the most successful Finnish rock acts Negative will release their fourth album "Karma Killer" on May 7th. With the previous three albums Negative have topped the Finnish album- and singles charts and toured around the world playing hundreds of shows. At the end of 2007 the band was voted the best Finnish act in MTV's Video Music Awards, once again showing the size and dedication of their fanbase. In January 2008 Negative released "In The Eye Of The Hurricane", a double-disc DVD covering their career so far. The DVD has achieved gold sales in Finland.

"Won't Let Go" is the first single from the new album, showcasing the band's natural progress: there are fresh elements in the mix, but the song still sounds like Negative. The album was produced by Mikko Karmila who has previously worked with Finnish heavyweights Nightwish and Children Of Bodom. The album will be released in Scandinavia on May 7th, releases for the rest of Europe and Japan will follow later in the spring.

With the new album Negative will also announce their new guitar player Gary (photo) who will replace Sir Christus, who parted ways with the band at the beginning of 2008. "I've known the guys for about seven years, played at the same gigs with them with my own band etc., so when Negative was in need of a guitar player, Antti (NGT's bass player) asked me to come up and try out with them, as they thought that I could fit into the band pretty nicely. Everything's gone well so far, the mood inside the band is great and it just feel natural", says Gary.

Won't Let Go will be added to NGT's Myspace on Wednesday, April 2nd.

We are sad to inform that Timo Diamonds is no longer a part of the PSG. Timo decided to concentrate on other things & issues going on in his life at the moment. We hope the best for our beloved exdrummer wacko.

We also want to express our deepest apologies about the last wednesdays gig in Torvi, Lahti. Due to our sudden drummer issue we were not able to play our gig proberly. SORRY! The night was awesome still, wasn’t it!?! Thanks for the Testicals and Dragging Spoons!

Von Hertzen Brothers album "Love Remains The Same" release date is postponed from April 30th to May 14th due to delay in production.

"We have been so busy working with the new album that we wanted to postpone the album release by two weeks so we would have a bit time to take some distance to the material. This way we will have the chance to listen and go through the whole album and make changes if we need to", says Mikko von Hertzen.

The first single "In The End" is currently the most requested song at national radio YleX. Thanks to all voters! The brothers are currently working also with the video for "In The End", which will be directed by Kie von Hertzen.

Due to postponed album release the show in Kotka (May 9th) will be moved and show in Espoo (May 10th) is cancelled.

Before the festival season will start the brothers will do few shows in Finland. Dates are as follows:

Mikko Päivinen is no longer a part the Mind of Doll line-up. The band is sad and sorry to announce this decision, but life doesn't always go as planned beforehand. Members of the band now want to thank Mikko, for these many grand years and truly excellent memories and wish him all the best for his future projects - and in life generally.
For the upcoming gigs in Virgin Oil Company and the tour to Italy, the drum duties will be carried out by Matti Lehikoinen aka Lee High - who's a familiar face from the line-ups of United Underworld and Jericho Fuzz.

After the the gigs in Italy there'll be a new face to the Dolls line-up, but these details will be revealed to you at a later time.

Hanoi Rocks will end their working relationship with their current drummer Lacu.

Lacu will leave the band after Hanoi Rocks' European tour, which will start from Stockholm, 14th of February and will finish at the Astoria Club, London 7th of March 2008. The change behind the drumkit will not affect the forthcoming Hanoi Rocks gigs or tours.

The new drummer will be announced soon.
